1. OVERVIEW :

Job title : Junior R&D Manager

Job direct superior : R&D and Fermentation Director

Location : Gembloux

2. MISSSION

Within the R&D department, develop and manage, on a daily basis,, the R&D activities.

Actively contribute to the definition of the R&D projects. Lead innovation and differentiation. Provide support to business development. Collaborate closely with Sales department and external partners (universities, external labs,…).

Responsible for developing and improving a large scientific knowledge related to THT’s products.

3. KEY TASKS

• Develop the scientific information related to the products, strains produced by THT in particular (i.e. antibiotic resistance, antimicrobila effects, gastrointestinal performance, lactose digestion, stability,….)
• Develop collaboration with external partners for specific analysis (i.e. SHIME, genetic sequence,…)
• Develop collaboration with THT’s shareholder (Puratos) R&D department.
• Study the possibility to produce new bacteria for nutraceuticals or bakery applications
• Support business development activities
• Collaborate to optimize the product range, to develop new products, to create tailor-made products based on customer’s request or market-specific needs.

4. COMPETENCIES/PROFILE :

• Prefered degree : Master in Food Sciences (agronomist engineer, microbiologist or equivalent)
• Important skills :
  • Networking, able to create fruitfull collaboration with internal/external stakeholders
  • Business development drive, ability to interact with sales department
  • Curiosity, innovation mind
  • Ability to adapt in a growing and innovative environment
  • autonomy
  • Expérience in R&D : a short experience is a plus
  • Passionate about food supplements and microbiolgy
  • Good communication, planning and organisation skills
  • Pragmatic and result oriented
  • Language skills : french and english
